Pandora's Box

Meet my first homework offering! This was written for the Thursday just past (three days ago). The topic was Pandora's Box.

Gru had a Mission. His Minions had to create a Pandora’s Box! He told them the story: “Once upon a time, there was a very special box with very important things inside it. One day, one of you stupid Minions accidentally opened the box and almost every single good thing in the world flew out and was lost. “
“Kevin!” laughed Stuart.
“Okay, Kevin can be the stupid minion who opened the box.” Gru agreed. All the assembled minions burst into laughter, while poor Kevin shot Stuart a death glare that promised pain after the meeting.
Gru continued the story. “Fortunately, one of you smarter minions immediately jumped on the box, closing it, preventing the last, most important thing from escaping.”
“King Bob!” Bob immediately volunteered himself for the role.
“No, you’re just Bob now; you abdicated when you returned to my service, remember?” Gru reminded his minion. Bob frowned, but was mollified when Gru quickly amended, “But yes, you can be the smart minion who saves the day. Now, what can be the most important item that gets saved? In the real Pandora’s Box, I believe it was hope, but that’s probably too big a concept for you yellow jellybeans to comprehend…”
“Pope?” Dave asked, puzzled.
“No no, the Pope’s some big figurehead for some major religion. See? Point proven. You guys don’t get hope and as such, that can’t be the most important item that’s saved … what would be the most important things for you minions?” Gru continued.
“BA-NA-NA!” Jerry cheered.
“Yes, well done, Jerry! You get a very slight pay rise next payday. ‘Banana’ can be the final item that gets saved when Bob’s clever enough to close the Box. “What else, now? Come on, whoever can suggest an acceptable item will also win a very slight pay rise come next payday.”
Now the ideas started coming fast and loud.
“Bable!” cheered Dave. (BTW, ‘bable’ is Minionese for ‘apple’.)
“Yes, good job, Dave! A very slight payrise for you too.” Congratulated Gru.
“Underwear!” sang Phil and Mark together (A/N” ‘Underwear’ is Minionese for “And I Swear”, that song sung by the minions for Gru’s wedding)
“Eww, you two!” screeched Gru. “That stays in the bedroom! Anything else?”
The assembled minions all looked searchingly at one other, and then together all shook their heads. That was understandable; after all, minions aren’t really very fluent in English.
But that was enough for Gru. “Good job, minions!” He congratulated them. Some of you will see a very slight pay rise in your next pay check. Dismissed!”
